The child will not live in the world in which we live and therefore has the right to build the world we will live. Talking to a ten year old about nuclear war, she told us: “I think adults are jealous because they will die, and the people, child, are you going to get, and then they want to destroy the world.” Perhaps this child has a profound reason in the case. Often we want to impose ways of being, which, in the background, reveal just how we are frustrated that we have not done differently or because we are incompetent to change. The old phrase that the child is now the man of tomorrow should not be forgotten.

Adults in general and particularly teachers, are often dominated by their values, their morals, their fears and ambitions and try, at all costs, impose them children. Often this charge is made smoothly, making use of “emotional blackmail”; parents, particularly very use this method, while teachers tend to pure repression and simply saying what is right and what is wrong.
